The title of this novel is ambiguous: it is the name of the main female character but it also stands for the main idea of the novel – his trust in love with the girl whom he will marry and be with until their bond wears out. It would be quite an ordinary story if it were not extremely romanesque reminding us of medieval ballads about handsome Lautrec. The knight breathes life into the dead princess, takes her for his wife and having become just a husband to her she gets bored with him and discards him. In contrast, our hero packs his suitcase and leaves with better knowledge about trust in love which turned out to be just illusion.

“.....What people really lack is goodness. How easily and in silence could we stay close, Vera and I, make love rolling on the floor, cease to exist. Miles of travels, false specializings, flights, hotel rooms, passport stamps, all of these are unnecessary. So, in spite of all, I'm ready to forget about everything. I let the driver go, I throw away my plane ticket, I'm here, now.....”
